INTERNALISATION, MEMORISATION & IMPROVISATION
IMI - the power of 3
IMI - the power of 3
internalisation , memorisation and Improvisation (IMI).
Three skills that are often sidelined and neglected in our pianistic rush to master the notes, learn the right technique and create a performance. Yet, when used, these three skills have a power to help us learn the piece faster, more efficiently as well as lifting our playing and performances to new creative heights.
IMI, the power of 3 allows us to see to the very heart of the music.

During the season all participants will be encouraged to choose elementary, intermediate level pieces of music that can be used to help develop their IMI skills.
What is learnt during the process will then be applied to more challenging repertoire.

Spring Series 2021
During the Spring Series our attention will turn to internalisation and memorisation.
It is very much hoped that the group will be able to meet in person once again at the Jacqueline du Pré from January upwards. Due to the uncertainty of the situation detailed plans, including guest speakers, will be published when confirmed.
